One of the best games of its kind on the Android platform. Though Jewels Star brings nothing new to the match-three genre in terms of original gameplay, it is hugely entertaining to play and almost impossible to put down. The music in Jewels Star is both melancholic and hypnotic, and the sound effects for the lightning bolts are explosions are so thunderous that they'll make you jump at times. The other-wordly backgrounds (of which there are eight) look great, and the gems themselves are coloful and shiny. These packs contain three additional cards for the game, and may contain foils. The presentation of Jewels Star feels very polished.

In terms of the behaviors of all the power-ups and how to solve the levels, it's something you'll pick up as you go along (a clue: get the blue star down to the bottom of the pile to complete a level). The controls themselves are simple though - you just tap on a gem to select it then tap on an adjacent one to swap them around. If you've never played a match-three puzzle game before, Jewels star might be a bit overwhelming at first, and the help screens aren't very clear at explaining what to do. There are more than 350 levels in total in Jewels Star. All of these play out in a slightly different way, making for a variety of challenges. There are four chapters in the game, each with three levels and an unlockable level. The games objective is to defuse bombs or 'save the day' in 20 seconds each level and is considered by Nilesy to be a very 'MacGyver style of game'. Complete three levels in a row, and you get sent to the Bonus Round. The game centers around the title character, McPixel. After completing each level, you get a silver medal. There are three different game modes in Jewels Star: Arcade, Mineral, and Classic. Im not sure if we improved from last time. McPixel is a 2012 indie game by Mikoaj 'Sos' Kamiski.
